Andre Fletcher smashed a 64-ball 84 to guide West Indies to a seven-wicket victory over Sri Lanka in Group 1 of the World Twenty20 on Sunday.
Coming in to bat in place of Chris Gayle, the right hander wasted no time in hoisting Angelo Mathews for a six, taking 13 runs off the first over. (Also read: De Villiers, Morris help SA beat spirited Afghanistan)
His knock contained six fours and five sixes as West Indies - set 123 to win - reached 127-3 off 18.2 overs.
Earlier, Sri Lanka struggled after being put into bat, reaching 122-9 from 20 overs.
The defending champion stumbled to 47-5 before a 44-run partnership between Mathews (20) and Thisara Perera (40). They took the score to 91 before Angelo was out in unusual fashion to an unintended edge off a full toss.
